Tough away game for Valencia Basket on the Zalgiris Kaunas court

Valencia Basket men's team will open Friday afternoon in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague by visiting the Zalgiris Kaunas’ court (Friday 27, 7:00 p.m., Zalgirio Arena, Movistar Deportes 4) in a game on the fifth round of the maximum continental competition.

 

After seeing their continental streak broken last week in Istanbul, the taronja team will try to return to the path of victory in Europe on a court that has historically been good for them (four wins of their six visits) but that will be totally full to host Valencia Basket.

 

Álex Mumbrú's men will have to optimize to the maximum the defensive virtues that allow them to currently be the team that receives the fewest points, the one that allows the least ranking and the best defensive rating against an opponent that is one of the best attacks in the competition.

 

The taronja team has traveled with twelve players to Lithuania, including the American Jared Harper once he has recovered from the sprained right shoulder that has caused him to miss the last six games. The long-term injured Martin Hermannsson and Guillem Ferrando and Xabi López-Arostegui will not participate in this game. The Basque forward returned to training last Tuesday after being away from the courts since April due to an injury to the sole of his left foot.

 

Valencia Basket begins this fifth round in fifth position in the Euroleague with a 3-1.
